37-year old veteran point guard Derek Fisher has been traded to Houston Rockets. While the whole world knows Derek is on the verge of his career and is too old to even compete against the likes of Westbrook, Deron Williams, or Kyrie Irving at the point guard spot. But also we can’t deny the fact that his leadership and experience come playoff time is impeccable.
Good Move:
The Lakers get Forward/Center Jordan Hill who averages 5.0 PPG, 4.8 RPG this 2011-2012 season for the Houston Rockets. The addition of Hill will make the Lakers’ front court rotation much deeper, thus allows the 2 Bigs to have more rests and not sacrifice defensive presence in the middle.
Bad Move:
With the Lakers acquisition of Ramon Sessions from the Cleveland Cavaliers, a faster, younger and could really rack up some points that the Lakers needed this season. Derek Fisher should have no problem backing up the young point guard and still be the leader of this team with his experience and reliability on and off the court.
I see this as experience versus youth trade. What do you think?
