Phil Jackson Talks Lakers and Team Chemistry | Lakers Nation

I just wanted to share what the Zen Master thinks about Kobe Bryant and the new look Los Angeles Lakers this upcoming season. It made a lot of sense and Phil has convinced me more (and not me sounding like a delusional fanatic), and made me believe the Lakers will win it all this season.

“It’s finding a role that each player can move towards and be comfortable in,” Jackson said. “I think that’s how you want to feel. You want Steve to have the ability to have the ball with confidence that he is doing the right thing and feeling like he can run the team and getting the ball to Kobe in critical situations is important because that’s what his best role is standing out in the moments of crisis or the moments that are critical. And the inclusion that you have to have to make Howard feel a part of it. So all those guys have to find a little role….

2 Key Words in the NBA Playoffs:

2 Key Words in the NBA Playoffs:

SHUT UP! – 2 words that would be the best advice in the 2012 NBA Playoffs first round.

Lakers Trade Derek Fisher: Bad Move, Good Move?

Lakers Trade Derek Fisher: Bad Move, Good Move?

37-year old veteran point guard Derek Fisher has been traded to Houston Rockets. While the whole world knows Derek is on the verge of his career and is too old to even compete against the likes of Westbrook, Deron Williams, or Kyrie Irving at the point guard spot. But also we can’t deny the fact that his leadership and experience come playoff time is impeccable.

Derek Fisher

Derek Fisher, a true Laker and will always be

Good Move:

The Lakers get Forward/Center Jordan Hill who averages 5.0 PPG, 4.8 RPG this  2011-2012 season for the Houston Rockets. The addition of Hill will make the Lakers’ front court rotation much deeper, thus allows the 2 Bigs to have more rests and not sacrifice defensive presence in the middle.

Bad Move:

With the Lakers acquisition of Ramon Sessions from the Cleveland Cavaliers, a faster, younger and could really rack up some points that the Lakers needed this season. Derek Fisher should have no problem backing up the young point guard and still be the leader of this team with his experience and reliability on and off the court.

I see this as experience versus youth trade. What do you think?
